After the catastrophic Vanir–Aesir war, the world fell into chaos. Drianor became a near-messianic figure who tried to unite people and teach them to stop killing and stealing.
He was killed by an empire that still exists in the present era. His true nature remains objectively unknown.
A newer and growing monotheistic religion centers on Drianor. Its organized institution is commonly called the Church. Believers regard him as divine and generally see the Drianor faith and the older Vanir tradition as expressions or continuations of the same underlying religion.
Drianor himself could activate and control Vanir machines.
The living key
Fander carries the Drianor bloodline without knowing it. His blood functions as a living key to functioning Vanir machinery: he can awaken or start a machine, control it and shut it down again.
