The established record
A challenge to the king
Resgar Vasa is the jarl of the Dales and the central rebel power in present-day Roo. His uprising has destabilized King Erik's authority at a moment when the country is already being pulled toward larger changes.
Roo has a king, but the kingdom is not governed by royal will alone. Jarls and clans hold their own territories. Some are strongly loyal to the crown; others question it. Resgar's rebellion turns that tension into open political instability.
The rebellion unfolds while Roo is reconnecting with the wider world after centuries of isolation, while Arwen slavery is increasingly challenged, and while a powerful fleet from Varren has arrived by sea. These pressures overlap in time, but the full relationship between them — and Resgar's personal position on every issue — is not yet established.
What is locked: Resgar Vasa is Jarl of the Dales, his rebellion is active, and it has destabilized royal authority. His complete motives, private beliefs and eventual fate remain deliberately open.
Power in Roo
Why one rebellion matters
Kingship in Roo is hereditary and treated as legitimate through bloodline, but power is ultimately pragmatic. A king can be replaced if another leader wins enough recognition and military strength.
That makes Resgar's rebellion more than a local quarrel. Even without knowing how it will end, its existence demonstrates that the political order can be challenged — and that the crown cannot simply assume obedience from every jarl and clan.
